Every year, about 40 contestants are selected from the audition and made to go through 5 weeks of grooming and photo shoot sessions. After which 20 contestants makes it to the grand finale and 2 comes out victorious, a Male and a Female

December 3rd 2017, Oghenekaro Angel and David Yomo emerged as winners of the 3rd edition of Projectface kwara.

We had an interview session with them and here are their responses

TELL US ABOUT YOU

I'm Yomo David Efemena, from Delta state, Isoko south; idheze-irri to be precise. I'm from a family of 9 consisting of 5guys and 4ladies. It's a colony lol. I'm the 6th child and last male of the pack. I'm currently running a degree at NOUN with course study Information and communication technology. I'm jovial and highly sociable.

WHAT MADE YOU CONTEST FOR PROJECT FACE?
I've always had a flair for fashion and modeling. I luckily came across an online campaign for project face kwara and decided to that avenue to not only boost myself as regards modeling and also learn intricacies of the beautiful profession.

HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE?
It was highly demanding and challenging starting from having to think of ways to be creative with shoots and also make them captivating to the eyes of fans out there. I had to do a lot of self motivation to stay and keep myself in couples with the endless demand for perfection in the routines and working closely with other people that have the same goals as you.

HOW DOES IT FEEL EMERGING A WINNER?
Making it through to the finals was both lifting and eye-opening. I mean, from top 37 to top 25 to top 20 and then to top 5 wasn't a small feat. We were all winners at that stage and the tension at that point was so palpable a knife could slice through it. Yeah the crowd, the effort put into the final day was so intense and challenging. I was a body of nerves on that day but because of the military like drilling we had undergone I didn't show it.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT?
I enjoyed every moment, experiencing the torrent of love from fans and well wishers. Well, I'd say my favorite moment--it was walking for the first time on the project face kwara stage that clinched the spot in my heart.

DO YOU SEE MODELING AS A CAREER OR A HOBBY? TELL US MORE.
I see modeling for me as a career.
Tons of people are drawn to the lifestyle modeling seem to offer:the traveling, the connections, the money, the events. Modeling can be a great job for a small few. A small few that are able to find maximum continuity in their modeling jobs and take it to that next level. But for most models, modeling will be more of a hobby or a part-time job. Modeling will be something that most models do on the side. That is because of the instability and the flexibility that modeling requires. The seemingly low remunerations for working. That's if there's money at all. All this alongside a lack of benefits makes it hard to maintain.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5-10YEARS?
Walking on top shows in the country and beyond, opening for collections and being a brand ambassador. Owing my own brand and outfitting fashion empire. Mentoring, inspiring and teaching out to aspiring models.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST WEAKNESS/STRENGTH AS A MODEL?
Greatest Weakness- Overexerting my weaker left leg(This is due to an injury on my left leg)
Greatest Strength- that should be my skin...melanin popping!☺

WHAT ARE YOU GOALS AS A MODEL?
My goals as a model would be reaching the vertex/pinnacle of modeling, owning a fashion brand and outfitter. Becoming a notable fashion model, Influencer and mentoring aspiring models.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE A SITUATION WHERE A PHOTOGRAPHER DOES NOT PROPERLY DIRECT YOU?
Overtime, I have come in contact with different photographers and I can say boldly that not all photographers are good directors and to this I think it's important for all fashion models and fashion photographers to take a study on directing and posing in selling any concept or idea. However back to the question. I at first give you what you want and do me later. I've had occasions where the photographer likes what I do. Basically being original has solve that problem for me.

WHAT WARDROBE ACCESSORY CAN YOU SPEND YOUR LAST CARD ON?
Shoes, definately shoes!

WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A CREATIVE PERSON?
Yes...

CAN YOU TELL US SHOWS YOU HAVE WALKED IN? AND JOBS YOU HAVE DONE.
Yeah I can, I recently walked a show here in kwara state; that's WOW(walk on water) I once did a job with a photographer(GAMEZOO) in delta state before PROJECT FACE KWARA in 2012 and I walked a show organized by airtel in delta state too.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU CROSSED PATH WITH MODELING?
I was a co-stylist under my brother'a brand(BLACKMARKET CLOTHING) I also had a laundry and branding business going on for me

WHAT'S YOUR FAMILY STAKE ON YOUR MODELING CAREER BEFORE AND NOW?
They were in support then and they are now. My family supports anything I do!

HOW EASY HAS IT BEEN MANAGING YOUR MODELING CAREER WITH SCHOOL, PERSONAL LIFE AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES?
Well, success doesn't come cheaply but I've managed to juggle all four successfully. It's not been easy doing routines, practicing moves and going for fittings with work, church and school. There are times I'm practically dead on my feet but I've stayed abreast of the deluge of responsibilities.

WHAT OTHER INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE ASIDE MODELING?
Fashion and styling as always been a thing of interest for me. Tourism, music and cooking piques my interest too.

TELL US ABOUT YOU
My name is Angel Oghenekaro, from a family of 5 kids, all artistically inclined. A christian. Besides modeliñg, I enjoy drawing, writing, shopping.

WHAT MADE YOU CONTEST FOR PROJECT FACE
Pfk started before my semester so I thought since I was free I use it as a platform to push my modelling in kwara state. I figured even if I didn't win the exposure could only help my career in modelling

HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE?
It was truly wonderful I had a few reservations earlier cuz I didn't i don't like competition generally but psg was nothing like I imagined all the facilitators were really nice and helpful and my fellow contestants were nothing short of marvelous there was no bad blood, no beef everyone was friendly and by the end of the first week it was like I had a new family. It was just so much fun. it was also pretty stressful but still a lot of fun. The facilitators and coaches were also really helpful they really made us understand what modelling was really about and they gave us tips on how to make a worthwhile career modelling. We also learnt other things like how to make small chops, how to make soap, it was all in all really fun and really enlightening. I learnt a lot

HOW DOES EMERGING THE WINNER FEEL LIKE?
emerging as the winner felt surreal when it got to the grand finale everyone brought their a game so I wasn't even feeling confident but I prayed about it and told myself whatever happens, happens. So when my name was called I was pretty much in shock, then dawned on me that I was the winner and I feel really happy.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT?
My favourite moment was definitely being called out as the winner

DO YOU SEE MODELLING AS A CAREER OR HOBBY?
I definitely see it as a career. Modeling in Nigeria is now pretty advanced, there are a lot of opportunities here and I intend to go global doing campaigns and walking for designers like calvin klein, dkny, prada and maybe getting a vogue cover one day.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5-10YEARS
By that time I see myself as a top international model inspiring young girls all over nigeria. with an m.sc and working on my PhD cuz I intend to further my education.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS AS A MODEL?
My greatest strength as a model is my drive, my ability to push myself beyond what i think I'm capable of, my ability to to strive to be more than I used to be, setting new standards for myself everyday, every shoot. I think my weakness would be my height even though that's not exactly a weakness but to build a career in modeling, I'm below the standard height at 5'8 so I think of it as a weakness.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AS A MODEL?
My goal as a model is to be recognised internationally as a supermodel.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE A SITUATION WHERE A PHOTOGRAPHER DOES NOT PROPERLY DIRECT YOU
I've never been in such a situation before but if I find myself in that kind of situation, as long as I know what the client wants, I think I should be able to navigate the shoot without any direction from the photographer.

WHAT WARDROBE ACCESSORY CAN YOU SPEND YOUR LAST CARD ON?
Probably shoes

WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A CREATIVE PERSON?
Yes, definitely

CAN YOU TELL US SHOWS YOU HAVE WALKED IN?
Kwara fashion week, Walk on water fashion show

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE YOU CROSSED PATH WITH MODELLING?
I was into hair and makeup

WHATS YOUR FAMILY STAKE ON YOUR MODELLING CAREER BEFORE AND NOW?
Before they were a bit sceptical about it they were'nt really sure it was going to take me anywhere and just allowed me to so that I'll be happy but now they're positive about it and supportive and proud of me.

HOW EASY HAS IT BEEN MANAGING YOUR MODELLING CAREER WITH SCHOOL, PERSONAL LIFE AND EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES?
It hasnt been bad, I've dropped all but school to focus on modeling. Balancing school and modeling isn't always easy, one of the two suffers for it but I'm in my final year right now, so I'll be able to focus fully on modeling soon enough

WHAT OTHER INTEREST DO YOU HAVE ASIDE FROM MODELLING?
I've got a few interests besides modeling. I'm into hair styling and wig making and writing. I'm also pretty interested in acting but that's on the low for now
