The Chairman of Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah, has said humanity would have been a nullity without the special role of women in the society and that they should, therefore, be respected and accorded a special recognition by leaders.
Obuah, in a goodwill message yesterday, on this year’s International Women’s Day and Mothers’ Day celebrations, said: "human-kind has no choice but to love and protect mothers as special and indispensable, without who humanity cannot be sustained.”
This, according to Obuah, was the reason why governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, gives prominence to women in his administration.
Obuah noted that the surest means of actualising this hope is to rally round Wike who has demonstrated his respect for women by appointing women to enviable posi-tions in his administration.
