Retired Nigerian soldier cooks dinner for his wife, advises men to do the same

- Retired Nigerian soldier has advised men to cook for their wives at home
- He shared the advice in a Facebook post with photos of himself cooking for his wife

Men doing chores and cooking is an uncommon trend in African countries. In some households in Nigeria, the male children are not even trained to cook or do house chores, many believe that house chores should be trained into female children as they grow up not male children.

With the growing trend of gender quality, many men have embraced the idea of lending a hand to their wives and sisters while they work at home. However, this idea is believed to be common amongst younger men.

But it also seems like men of the older generation are also beginning to embrace the idea of cooking for the house while their wives relax at home. A retired Nigerian soldier has shown off his cooking skills as he prepared dinner for his wife.

The man identified as Des-Dokubi Dennis showed off his cooking skills on Facebook. Dennis shared photos of himself cooking eba and vegetable soup for his wife.

In his Facebook post, he also advised men to support their wives at home. He said:“Your wife is your better half, not a slave....Madam was tired, so I took over the Kitchen, cooked Vegetable Soup and prepared Eba for Us to eat, Husbands should help their wives biko, you won't die.”
